Efficacy and usage of plant growth regulator

Time:2023-01-31 Follow:198

Plant growth regulator is a substance similar to plant hormone that has physiological and biological effects, including auxin, gibberellin, cytokinin, abscisic acid, etc. Plant growth regulators are applicable to field crops, vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, trees, etc., which can enhance the resistance of crops and improve the yield and quality of crops. There are several ways to use it:

Plant growth regulator used as seed dressing

Seed dressing method and seed coating method are mainly used for seed treatment. When seeds are treated with fungicides, insecticides and micro-fertilizers, plant growth regulators can be appropriately added. The seed mixing method is to mix the medicament and the seed evenly to make the seed surface coated with medicament. For example, use a spray to spray the medicament on the seed, mix evenly and then sow. If the seeds are mixed with petroleum promoter, it can stimulate seed germination and promote rooting.

Plant growth regulator used as seed coat

Seed coating is to use a special seed coating agent to wrap it outside the seeds to form a film with a certain thickness. In addition to promoting seed germination, it can also achieve the purpose of preventing diseases and pests, increasing mineral nutrition, and regulating plant growth.

Plant growth regulator used as soaking method

It is often used to promote the rooting of cuttings, seed treatment, ripening of fruits, storage and preservation, etc. For example, woody cuttings with leaves can be placed in 5 to 10 ml/L of indobutyric acid, soaked for 12 to 24 hours, and then directly inserted into the seedbed. The quick dip method can also be used. For example, after mixing naphthylacetic acid and talcum powder at the ratio of 1 gram to 1000 grams, soak the lower part of the cuttings with clean water, and then dip a little powder into the cuttings in the seedbed. Storage and preservation can be used for fresh cut flowers. The fresh flowers can be directly soaked in 10ml/L dinitrophenol solution and stored at 2 ℃ to 5 ℃, which can extend the preservation period.

Plant growth regulator used as solution spray

First, prepare the plant to be sprayed at the corresponding concentration as required, and the droplets shall be small and uniform, and the spraying site shall be wet. In order to make the agent easy to adhere to the surface of the plant, a small amount of emulsifier, such as neutral detergent or surfactant and other auxiliary agents, can be added to the agent to increase the adhesion of the agent.

Plant growth regulator used as smear method

When using lanolin for treatment, apply lanolin containing medicament directly on the treatment site, mostly on the wound, which is beneficial to promote rooting and can also be applied on the bud. High-altitude layering cut coating method can be used for the cultivation of rare and hard-rooted flowers. The method is to circumcise the branches, expose the phloem, apply lanolin containing auxin agent on the cut, keep it moist with moss, and wrap it with film to prevent water evaporation.

Plant growth regulator used for soil irrigation

The plant growth regulator is mixed into an aqueous solution, which is directly irrigated in the soil or mixed with fertilizer to make the root fully absorb. For potted flowers, the amount of solution required depends on the size of the plant and the pot. Generally, a pot with a diameter of 9 to 12 cm needs 200 to 300 ml. In order to promote the flowering of plants and control the elongation and growth of plant stems and branches, 0.1% to 0.3% succinic acid and chlormequat aqueous solution can be used for irrigation.
